SERVICES WE PROVIDE
Choosing the right lawn fertilizer can be tricky. Because each yard is unique, what’s right for one may not be right for the other. That’s where Big Green comes in. As a trusted lawn care company with years of experience, we take the guessing game out of the fertilization process and replace it with the perfect grass treatment for your yard. By ensuring it gets the nutrients it needs, we keep it looking its best season to season.
Lawn maintenance often involves battling weeds, but killing the weeds without correcting the underlying problem will lead to unsatisfactory results. Because weeds are often an indication of problems in the grass plant environment, Big Green Turf Management can help you maintain a dense and vigorously growing turf cover—the most effective method of controlling lawn weeds.
LAWN, TREE AND SHRUB INSECTICIDE TREATMENTS
Living in the Midwest, we are primary targets for unwanted pests that are harmful to our trees, shrubs and lawns. From the dreaded Japanese Beetle that eat the leaves of our beautiful trees to the disgusting little bag-worm. We offer a 3-Step insecticide program to battle these creatures and keep your lawn and shrubs thriving throughout the season.
EARTH RIGHT SOIL CONDITIONER TREATMENTS
Used over time, Earth Right Super Stuff will help turn your heavy clay soil into rich earth that will enhance lawn and plant growth, and will increase drainage within weeks of application.
In our area, the most common turf grass diseases we treat are Brown Patch, Dollar Spot, and Pythium Blight. Other common diseases in the area are Summer Patch, Zoysia Patch, Spring Dead Spot, Leaf Spot, Rust, Powdery Mildew and Fairy Ring. Our highly trained technicians can quickly help you identify the problem and prescribe the proper corrective measures.
Aeration and Seeding
Core aeration is one of the single most important things you can do to your lawn – Core aeration is a simple process: a specialized piece of equipment goes over your turf, pulling out cores of soil to provide greater airflow and deeper water infiltration into your lawn’s root zone. By removing these cores or plugs, aeration allows your lawn to grow healthier and deeper roots.
When seeding your lawn, it needs to be done in conjunction with core aeration. This allows your seeds to come in contact with the dirt for proper germination. If your lawn is bare, thin or you just want to introduce new grass to your lawn, you will need to overseed when aerating. The best time of year to seed your lawn is late summer/early fall.
FOR THE EMERALD ASH BORER (EAB)
There’s really no escaping this tiny intruder. The sad and alarming truth is that if you have Ash trees that are left untreated, they WILL die. The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) attacks and kills all 16 species of Ash trees. Hundreds of thousands of Ash trees have already died in the United States. Big Green Turf Management can put you on a program to treat your valuable trees from the Emerald Ash Borer.
